As soon as you have secured my services I offer you the benefit of my experience and expertise in planning your special day. I pay special attention to timings, order of events and those little details that you may not have thought of (see my helpful hints on the website). On the wedding day, with my friendly formality and secure in the knowledge that the man in the red coat has everything under control, you and your guests will be able to relax and enjoy a truly memorable day.
As soon as you have your venue and date in place, get in touch – sooner rather than later. I sometimes receive bookings two years in advance, so if you want to make sure I am available – don’t delay, book me today! Of course I will take last minute bookings but only if I am available.
As your toastmaster my role is to ensure everything on your wedding day flows smoothly from start to finish.
On the day I will arrive early to liaise with the management of the venue.
Is your ceremony being held in the same venue?
- If so I will greet your guests and ensure they are seated before the bride arrives
- I will also assist in arranging for the Bride & Bridegroom to meet the registrar separately
- I will announce the Bridal party into the ceremony and then, at the conclusion of the ceremony, I will introduce the new Mr.& Mrs…..
Now it’s time for the celebrations to begin.
- I will direct guests as required for the drinks reception and be available to assist the photographer by gathering guests for group photographs
- Prior to the wedding breakfast, I will organise the receiving line – if you have decided to have one. This is when the Bride & Bridegroom greet each guest as they enter for the Wedding Breakfast.
- When all guests are seated for the meal, I will announce the grand entrance of the Bride and Bridegroom and escort them to the top table
- If required I will say a Grace or introduce a chosen guest to do so
- At the agreed time I will introduce the cutting of the wedding cake and each principal guest who is to make the traditional speeches and toasts
- I will also ensure that any gifts or bouquets to be given to parents or bridesmaids etc. are to hand
- If you have a guest book I will remind guests to sign it so that it is not forgotten
- After formally closing the proceedings, I will usually take my leave. However, if requested, I am willing to remain for the beginning of the evening celebrations to greet evening guests; announce the cutting of the wedding cake (if it has not been done previously); gather the single ladies for the throwing of the bride’s bouquet and finally, welcome the newlyweds on to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. I will then take my leave and you and your guests can party the night away.
Yes. When everything is in the same venue I will attend from an hour before the ceremony through to announcing the first dance.
As soon as a booking is confirmed:
- A planning meeting at your home or other venue
- A schedule for the day
- All travel costs to planning meeting and the wedding venue (within a 30 mile radius of Norwich)
- My attention throughout your wedding to attend to every detail
- My availability to advise you in the weeks and months leading up to your day
A professional toastmaster is an essential, yet often forgotten, part of a wedding day. You will have spent a lot of money and it makes sense to have someone who is able to ensure the day runs smoothly and enable you to enjoy every part of it without stress and worry. You may think that a family member with a loud voice or even the Best Man can fulfil the role. This is not fair on them as they will want to enjoy the day as well and giving them this responsibility may well cause problems if things go wrong. Even the banqueting manager at a venue will have other duties relating to the venue itself and his staff. The Toastmasters attention is focused entirely on the Bride & Bridegroom making sure that all their carefully laid plans happen without a hitch.
My current fee for 2023 and beyond is £450 (within a 30 mile radius of Norwich). Extra travel time and costs will be quoted for weddings further afield.
Perhaps I will let others whose weddings I have attended answer that:
Bob! Honestly, there are not enough thankyous in the world for our wedding day. We knew getting a toastmaster was a great idea anyway but you really solidified it.
The day was perfect and every second was perfect thanks to you. All our guests adored you!
We could really go on, but you helped give us our perfect wedding day. For that we could never thank you enough. Alice & Liam
Bob was very warm and friendly from day one. We all got on well and could contact him and ask anything. When the day finally came he was amazing with all our guests with his professionalism and witty sense of humour. Thankyou so much for making our day run so smoothly. Becca & Ben
Dear Bob. Thank You so so much for making sure our day went without a hitch. You have such a calm manner which really helped to calm Marks nerves. Julie & Mark

I do like to make sure guests are enjoying themselves and have been known to tell the odd joke or three to keep them entertained. I am not a magician but I do have a magic colouring book which the children (and adults) seem to enjoy! It all adds to the fun side of the day.
