You may be curious to know what inyeon means and why we chose this name to represent us.
Inyeon, written as 인연, was first derived from Sanskrit and cannot actually be translated directly into english. The word has a deep, ancient history in Korea, with Buddhist roots tracing back to 1281. The meaning has a powerful notion that two people are always destined to meet, and will do so over multiple lifetimes, in an eternal love.
The Korean belief is that inyeon occurs if two strangers walk by each other on the street, their clothes accidentally brush, suggesting they must have already met in their past lives.
If two people fall in love and marry, it is said that there have been 8,000 layers of inyeon over 8,000 lifetimes.
And for us, this beautiful history is not only a nod to Julia’s Korean heritage, but a notion of destiny that we both speak of so often, and truly believe has brought us to this very point in time.
There is a huge honour in photographing the day that the majority will anticipate their entire lives. The two of us adore the very existence of love, and the reason we feel so blessed to be able to tell your story on the day.
Our photography will capture real time emotion and connection, through allowing genuine moments to unfold; followed with careful composition, natural lighting and cinematic editing. We offer a relaxed and authentic approach, generally keeping things to a 70:30 mix, 70% documentary, 30% directed. Candid imagery offers a true reflection of the day, as well as allowing for more time with family and friends. With this, I also know the value of a little direction when stood in front of a camera, so don’t worry at all, we have you covered and will gently assist to make this happen comfortably. We’re happy to go with the flow for whichever style you wish for, so long as it works for you.
